How I got here
For thirteen years my title at Vitamin Discount Center was Web Developer, but the job was much wider than that. I designed and built every version of the company’s website, worked with engineers on its in-house software, and weighed what the business wanted against what we could actually ship. I also laid out a monthly print magazine and ran tech support for fifty employees and ten stores. Doing all of that at once is how I learned UX, before I had a name for it.
In 2021 I made it formal with General Assembly’s UX Design Immersive, and since 2022 I’ve been a Senior Experience Designer at PNC.
How I work
I start with the business problem, not the screen. I’m most useful in the messy early stage, when the problem isn’t defined yet. That’s where I partner closely with product and engineering to turn research into clear bets we can test quickly. I care about accessibility, craft, and shipping over polishing.
